Another Six Weeks of Winter...surprise surprise!

Happy Groundhog day everyone! I love celebrating holidays, including Groundhog day, but I have to tell you. I have a friend who has a fancy breakfast and does all things Groundhog on this day, and I wish I could hang out with her all day long and be a part of it! As you may have heard, Punxatawny Phil predicted another six weeks of winter. What a surprise...I think I'd have a heart attack anyways if the sun shone for more than three days in a row.
Holidays are a great way to break up the everyday-ness of the weeks. Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year's with homemade fortune cookies (not too bad to make, fun to put your own fortunes inside) and a dragon dance.
As you know Valentine's is coming, and you guessed it. We will be celebrating to the nines! Hearts and red and candy and love...all things I adore. And the kids will love it too darn it!

We still have leftover biscuits and gravy and groundhog cookies if you are feeling hungry! Here's to six more weeks of fabulous gray Washington Winter!

This would be my slacking point. Our household is minimal in it's holiday celebrating. I love reading about other peoples ventures though.

My kids were just complaining today that I didn't decorate for Valentine's day...hey, there's a red heart out by the door, what else do you want?! Seriously, you are a good, good mama!

And, btw, I don't hate many movies ('cause I don't watch many) but I really can't stand that movie! :) Just thinking about it I have Sonny and Cher in my head, even though some amazing Bryan Adams is playing on your playlist right now...

Laura, your kids are all so darling. I loved watching them interact with each other at church. Way to go on Liam's crocodile cake. It is so cute & I didn't even realize that he had already turned 1 years old. Time really does go by too fast. I just noticed your are reading a Mary Higgins Clark book. I love her books. Nothing like a good mystery. I hope you have a good week! Talk to you soon.
