Another Successful April Fool's Day

I played a few little fun jokes on the kids this year, nothing really. All our energy was focused on Daddy and getting him good on April Fools. :) Isn't he lucky?

Ammon and I spent a good hour ripping each page of the new phone book we got tossed on our doorstep last week, and crunkling it up and filling 5 bags full of the stuff. We then drove to Dad's work and dumped it all in the backseat, with a note from the kids "April Fools Dad, we love you!" It was great, Ammon was SO excited to see Dad's face. I'm nervous now, I know he's going to be my mischievous one and I will have to watch my own back when he gets a little bigger and more independent!

So that was fun. But the REAL fun for me was the letter Josh got in the mail from the local police dept. stating he was violating city code by dumping his grass clippings outside our fence and had to pay a huge fine from last year's actions. Josh was furious, he was NOT going to pay the $707 fine and I could tell he was upset it was already past business hours to call up the number listed and give them a piece of his mind. I had to leave the room while he was reading the letter because I knew I'd just bust up laughing. When I came out he started telling me about the fine and how he's not going to pay it, and I said, "If you do decide to pay it, make the check out to me. April Fool's!" We were both laughing so hard, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. He was impressed with my forethought and planning....gracias. And because we got him SO good today, we skipped the short sheeting the bed idea and just let the letter be our grand finale. I'm chuckling out loud right now thinking about that letter, he was so hilarious.

I know I just myself up for a nice trick next April 1st, but it was worth it!
